| Quick Resume: Carl Adams has led a career that has combined active performance with teaching flute. While he always maintained a small private teaching studio in which he taught students of all ages and proficiency levels, he was also Professor of Flute at the Indiana University of PA for 21 years. Previous to this, he began his performing career as a first-flutist in the United States Military Academy (West Point) Band which is one of the nations leading special military bands. He was later selected to be the concert flutist on the roster of Siegel Music Management, Inc. In this capacity he appeared either in solo or chamber music engagements in venues such as the Kennedy Center, New York's Carnegie Recital Hall and the Chautauqua Institution. He has additionally had a great deal of experience in the jazz area and with his Carl Adams Jazz Quartet has entertained in several states and performed numerous benefit concerts for arts orginazations.
His young students have achieved numerous honors while in their school years; his collegiate students have gone on to successful musical careers; and his beginning students, including adult beginners, have received continued pleasure from playing the flute.
