| Quick Resume: I live near Royal Oak/Berkley/Oak Park, with easy access to I-696.
I teach violin and viola (beginning through advanced). I also coach chamber music.

Rates: $26.00 per Half Hour - $38.00 per Forty-Five Minutes - $46.00 per Hour.
Educational Background: I attended the State University of New York and Manhattan School of Music, where I was a teaching assistant to the world-renowned concert violinist, Erick Friedman.
Experience: Former concertmaster: American Philharmonia Orchestra (N.Y.) . Former member: Detroit Symphony, N.J. Symphony, Mostly Mozart Festival Orch., N.Y. Chamber Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonia, et al. Experienced chamber musician and soloist. Former faculty: Center for Creative Studies, Detroit MI. Violin instructor for twenty years.
I recently commissioned and performed (as soloist with the Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony) the world premiere of a violin concerto by a local composer.
Teaching philosophy:
I use a combination of scales, studies, etudes, and pieces appropriate to your particular musical and technical capabilities. I place a lot of emphasis on developing a strong technical and musical foundation. This includes attention to form, tone production, rhythm, and intonation. Progress, of course, will depend on your level of commitment to implementing my suggestions and devoting a reasonable amount of time to individual practice. If you’re a serious student, I can give you the tools to make rapid progress on your instrument and increase your musical enjoyment exponentially.
I will consider a lesson fee discount for students who have financial need and are motivated and/or talented.
