Quick Resume: Mr.Thompson taught his first student while studying Music Education in college and, since graduating with a B.S. in Music Education, he has taught literally hundreds of students over the past 17 years!
Trumpet is his main instrument and French Horn and Trombone are his secondary instruments.In addition, he also teaches jazz styles to violin, cello, sax, and many other instruments. Mr. Thompson teaches trumpet to all ages and levels and welcomes the beginner who has yet to play their first note. Mr. Thompson also teaches French Horn, Baritone/Euphonium, and Trombone to beginning and intermediate students.
Mr. Thompson is young and energetic and applies a very enthusiastic and efficient approach to his teaching method. His Creed: "In order to educate, you must first motivate"
Mr Thompson: "The challenges facing brass players today are the same as 50 years ago and before: Endurance, Range, Sightreading, and a big powerful sound, just to name a few. You only have to go to a jazz band concert at the Highschool level or college level to witness players still struggling with highnotes and the inability to maintain a big, powerful sound to the end of a chart. It isn't a mystery: simple, yet powerful techniques can remedy most of these problem areas!"
