Quick Resume: Violinist and Violist Ricardo Garcia graduated with a BM in Music Education from the Crane School of Music where he studied violin and viola with Ruth Iogha. He has an MA in Musicology from C.W. Post College, where he studied with Dale Stuckenbruck and Bernard Zeller. He has fifteen years experience in orchestras and string ensembles and has performed in the The Lyrical String Quartet and NY Pro-Arte Orchestras among others.
As a teacher he has maintained a successful studio for years and has taught in the public schools. A certified NYSSMA adjudicator he always is involved, volunteering his time and energies to such organizations as Long Island String Festival and Nassau Music Educator's Association.
He is a devoted follower of the Suzuki philosophy of "Nurtured by Love", and believes that a healthy enthusiasm for performing and the love of sharing this craft, is what separates him from many other instructors.
Strengths: Energetic and Enthusiastic, even though he has played for years, still is enthralled at the possibilities of playing stringed instruments. Ability to convey the magic of performing and the importance of the little things that comprise a masterful performance .
